Torven Marine was formed to provide independent, practical marine engineering support — the kind of technical judgement developed through years of operational, new-build, commissioning and troubleshooting experience, rather than from a desk.
We are engaged directly by owners, managers, shipyards and engineering teams for the technical problems that matter: commissioning that needs independent verification, faults that have resisted resolution, maintenance systems that need rebuilding around how a vessel actually operates, and technical questions that need an unbiased answer.
Torven Marine holds no commercial relationship with any equipment manufacturer, shipyard or supplier. Every recommendation is made on technical merit alone.

Director
James Viscardini is a Chartered Engineer and marine engineering professional with more than 25 years of operational, new-build, commissioning and troubleshooting experience across commercial shipping and the international superyacht industry.
His career began in commercial shipping before progressing into senior engineering and Chief Engineer roles aboard complex yachts. His experience includes three major yacht new-build programmes, operational engineering leadership, commissioning and acceptance work, sea trials, machinery investigations and technical project support.
Based in Vietnam, James directs Torven Marine's consultancy activities across Southeast Asia and internationally. He remains closely involved in project definition, technical oversight and client communication, while drawing on Torven Marine's wider network of trusted specialists when an engagement requires additional expertise or capacity.
